A Glimpse of Evil Psychic Eye Mysteries No 8 Victoria Laurie Books

This is my second read through but with professional narration this time. I had already given it a 5 star rating back at first publishing but no comment.

I would like to point out that to me, Abby is improving on some of her personality insecurities. She is a little late on maturity issues but that is part of her charm. Sure, I get impatient with her a lot for her forgetfulness of clues she already has thought about. Actually, that drives me nuts in the story. I wish she was a little more savvy in that department.

Well, I'm off to download the professional narration of the spy novel of Abby Cooper the so many seemed to complain about in that book's reviews. I already own the ebook.

A Glimpse of Evil Psychic Eye Mysteries No 8 Victoria Laurie Books Reviews

Great book and great series. Only problem is her great distaste about any person who is not stereotypically gorgeous. She makes derogatory statements about every one else like anorexia people, fat people, ugly people, etc. It heavily distracts the reader from the story line.
I have been a fan of both of Laurie's series from the beginning and gobbled this one up as soon as it came from
. I was a little leery of Glimpse of Evil because the last Ghost Buster book had disappointed me with the absence of Stephen the series hero and a cliff hanger ending romantically that as a long time romance fan disappointed me.

But, Glimpse of Evil did not disappoint in any way. I love Abby, Dutch and their friends and what made this enormous fun for me was the romantic elements got full coverage in this book and weren't just there as filler. But, the mysteries did not get short shrift either, I was totally engrossed from page one and I only realized who the villain was right before Abby did--which since I have read mysteries for 50 years, is pretty unusual I nearly always know who done it.

As another reviewer mentioned, I would start with book one and just read the entire series back-to-back, that's what I did when I discovered Ms. Laurie last year and then I devoured all of the Ghost Buster books and only the last one in that series disappointed, from a romance viewpoint and I am still hoping Stephen will reappear in the next book; but, whether he does or not I will be reading to see what Ms. Laurie comes up with next. She is an excellent storyteller with an eye to detail and creates characters who are both likable and people you want to cheer on.
I am a teacher, empathic sensitive, with deep, deep level of intuition and sensory feeling. As an energy reader, for healing our emotional timelines, all books paranormal and urban fantasy are a must read, as this keeps me a little bit more comfortable, with my own level of sensitivity.

The way the stories of my fave gal story tellers, are written, keeps me honed verbally, while assisting others, in bringing understanding to their journey.

This is a must read. Enjoyable, excellent character interaction and great story line.
The most recent installment in the Abby Cooper series is one of the best yet! If you have not started this series, I highly suggest you start with the first book in the series-- Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 1). Part of what makes this book so great is re-visiting characters and relationships from past books. You lose a lot of that (and a lot of what makes the book great) if you read this book first.

Way big thumbs up to Victoria Laurie for a creative storyline, fast moving plot and wonderful personal interactions between characters in this book. My biggest complaint is having to wait a whole year for the next book to come out to see what happens to Abby, Dutch, and the rest of the gang.
Wife has loved all of the books in the two psychic series written by Victoria Laurie. She doesn't knit pick or compare to previous books by same author. She just enjoys each as they come & doesn't second guess the story lines or method of story telling used by the author. There is no major difference between any of the books in the series that would warrant condemnation of any extent regarding the books in the Psychic Eye Mysteries or the Ghoul Getters. She has enjoyed each one as they came available.
Have been buying one at a time to get the full series! Hard to pull myself away from these books. Eventually want to start reading Victoria Laurie's Ghoul books too! I'm not even a book reader normally, now have found that reading these get my mind off of all the chatter racing through my little brain too!
I like the Abby Cooper series and I am going to keep reading them as long as Victoria Laurie keeps writing them. This one was an easy read just like the rest of them, and I found the idea of Abby mixing with FBI agents really amusing. I do agree on a couple of criticisms about the plot; there was way too much "convenience" to the story. The fact that all of Abby's friends were relocating to the same city was just a little bit out there (even for a paranormal book!). And I feel like Abby's "abilities" are inconsistent. She used to hear "liar liar pants on fire" and now she just gets impressions whenever she needs them, ANYWAY...still looking forward to the next one!
